CAN Federation and Lumbini Technological University Partner to Boost ICT Education in Nepal

Kathmandu – In a strategic move to strengthen Nepal’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) ecosystem, CAN Federation and Lumbini Technological University (LTU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance ICT education, research, and industry engagement. The agreement marks a significant collaboration between the country’s leading ICT industry body and a public technological university located in Nepalgunj, Banke.
The partnership is built on a shared vision of fostering innovation, promoting skill development, and creating strong linkages between academia and industry. Through this MoU, both institutions aim to bridge the gap between academic training and real-world ICT demands, helping to produce a workforce that is better aligned with the rapidly evolving digital economy.
As part of the collaboration, the two organizations will work together on joint programs and events, facilitate internship opportunities and industry exposure for students, and pursue collaborative research and innovation initiatives. The alliance also includes efforts toward policy advocacy to support the overall growth of Nepal’s ICT sector.
Sunaina Ghimire Pandey, President of CAN Federation, expressed her optimism about the agreement, noting that the partnership represents a key milestone in nurturing grassroots-level ICT talent and building a sustainable innovation ecosystem. She emphasized the importance of industry-academic cooperation in driving forward Nepal’s digital transformation.
This MoU reflects the commitment of both CAN Federation and LTU to contribute meaningfully to Nepal’s ICT development by preparing future professionals with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary for success in the digital era.
