Manoj Kumar Gyawali Appointed CEO of Nabil Bank

Kathmandu — Nabil Bank Limited has appointed Manoj Kumar Gyawali as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The appointment was made during the bank’s 682nd Board of Directors meeting held on Thursday morning. Gyawali will serve a four-year term.
Prior to this official appointment, Gyawali had been working as the Acting CEO. He brings over 26 years of experience in Nepal’s banking and capital markets sector. He has previously held leadership roles at Nepal Rastra Bank, Global IME Bank, Global IME Capital, and Jyoti Bikas Bank. A Chartered Accountant by qualification, he is also known for his communication skills and involvement as a motivational speaker.
His career includes key contributions in regulatory and commercial banking, making him a well-rounded choice for the top executive role at one of Nepal’s leading financial institutions.
The board, during the same meeting, also promoted Deputy General Manager Adarsha Bazgain to the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, Vishma Neupane, the current head of the Legal Department, has been assigned the role of Company Secretary.
Founded in 1984, Nabil Bank is among the oldest private sector banks in Nepal. It currently operates a network of 268 branches and 320 ATMs across the country. The bank has recently focused on integrating digital technologies into its services, reflecting broader shifts within Nepal’s financial sector.
Gyawali’s appointment comes at a time when the country’s banking industry is navigating challenges related to liquidity, digital transformation, and economic recovery. His leadership will likely play a role in shaping the bank’s response to these evolving dynamics.
The bank has yet to announce further strategic initiatives under the new leadership.
