Dongfeng Nammi Exports Over 12,000 Units 40+ Countries

Kathmandu – Dongfeng Nammi has achieved a major milestone in its international journey. According to a recent report from Junfeng Company’s correspondent, the cumulative export volume of the JF-S3 electric vehicle has officially surpassed 12,000 units. With a growing presence in more than 40 countries and regions, this success marks a significant early achievement in Dongfeng’s global strategy for new energy vehicles (NEVs).
Launched for European distribution in December 2024, the JF-S3 has quickly gained traction for its refined aesthetics, driving performance, and adaptability to various international markets. The model has come to symbolize Dongfeng’s ambition to bring Chinese innovation to the global electric vehicle stage, while maintaining a distinctive “Eastern charm” that appeals to modern consumers.
Strong Market Response Across Europe
The JF-S3 has particularly impressed in Europe, where local customization and targeted market positioning have helped it stand out. In the Netherlands, the model topped the January sales chart for Chinese EV brands, with nearly 300 units delivered. Dealers have noted that Dutch consumers value both space efficiency and driving enjoyment — two qualities the JF-S3 appears to balance well. The response has exceeded sales forecasts, indicating strong future potential in Western Europe.
Norway, which leads the world in EV adoption, also embraced the JF-S3. Over 100 orders were placed within the first month of availability. Customers praised its handling and stability in snowy conditions, a key consideration in the Norwegian market. Dongfeng tailored the Norwegian variant by strengthening battery insulation, ensuring range consistency even in extreme cold, down to minus 20 degrees Celsius.
In Central Europe, the Czech Republic has emerged as another stronghold for the JF-S3. The model achieved top market share in its segment, aided by features like a winter package that includes a heated steering wheel and heat pump air conditioning, directly addressing the region’s seasonal demands. Meanwhile, in Latvia, the JF-S3 set a record by capturing 10 percent market share among Chinese brand EVs. It was praised by local media as a “phenomenal product that redefines industry standards.”
Local Customization Driving Global Success
Dongfeng Nammi’s global approach goes beyond simply exporting vehicles. Its success is rooted in a precise and localized strategy. For example, the Dutch model includes a CCS2-compatible charging interface and a multilingual intelligent cockpit system. These features ensure seamless integration with European infrastructure and consumer expectations.
This localization is not limited to Europe. In Mexico City, the JF-S3 has been adopted as the official vehicle for shared mobility operators, while in Bangkok, it has taken on a creative role as a mobile coffee workshop, demonstrating versatility in business-oriented applications. In parts of Africa, the model is equipped with a solar charging kit, a solution designed to overcome the challenge of limited charging infrastructure and contribute to sustainable transportation in developing regions.
This shift from a single-product trade model to a comprehensive export model of “product + services + ecosystem” reflects the evolution of Chinese NEV strategies abroad.
Expanding Production and Innovation Footprint
Dongfeng Nammi is also strengthening its global manufacturing and research capabilities. The company’s European R&D center is currently under substantial construction. Once completed, it will focus on advancing intelligent driving systems, connectivity features, and other cutting-edge technologies.
In Southeast Asia, Dongfeng’s KD (Knock Down) factory has entered the equipment commissioning phase and is expected to begin localized production by mid-year. This facility will support regional demand while reducing production and logistics costs. Meanwhile, in South America, Dongfeng has partnered with local mobility platforms to launch an innovative model featuring battery leasing and vehicle-electricity separation, a business strategy that could set new trends in the regional EV market.
Introducing the JF-06: Expanding the Lineup
In addition to the JF-S3’s ongoing success, Dongfeng Nammi has unveiled a new model, the JF-06, which has already sparked attention in international markets. With a bold “interstellar geometric” design language, the JF-06 features a continuous starry light strip outlining its sleek exterior. Inside, the car introduces a “light domain surrounding cockpit,” complete with 256-color ambient lighting and translucent decorative panels. These design elements aim to create a unique and immersive travel experience.
With the JF-06 joining the JF-S3, Dongfeng Nammi now offers a dual-model lineup that covers the A0 and A segments, appealing to a broader range of consumers worldwide.
Looking Ahead: Deeper Market Penetration and Innovation
Junfeng Company reports that it will continue to support Dongfeng’s global expansion. Moving forward, the company plans to optimize its dual-vehicle lineup, develop new models based on localized demand, and target more niche markets. There are also plans to deepen cooperation with local partners in areas such as intelligent driving, smart connectivity, and production localization.
By expanding market reach and driving collaborative innovation, Dongfeng Nammi aims to set a new benchmark for Chinese electric vehicles in global markets. Its growing presence not only signals the brand’s global potential but also reflects the rising influence of Chinese NEVs in the evolving landscape of sustainable transportation.
