Chinese Ambassador Visits Arjundhara, Interacts with Local Industries and Supports Education

Jhapa – The Chinese Ambassador to Nepal paid an official visit to Arjundhara Municipality in Jhapa, where he engaged in a variety of programs aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and supporting grassroots development.
During the visit, the Ambassador toured multiple local industries, including a traditional plate-making enterprise that uses areca (Supeari) leaves and a bamboo furniture workshop. He acknowledged the innovation and dedication shown by local entrepreneurs and commended their contribution to sustainable economic activities at the community level.
Arjundhara Municipality organized a ceremonial welcome in honor of the Ambassador’s arrival. The program featured cultural performances and was attended by municipal officials, business representatives, social leaders, and local residents. Mayor Baldev Gomden spoke at the event, pointing to China’s rapid progress and expressing optimism that Nepal too can follow a similar development path. He called for stronger cooperation and practical support from China in areas of mutual interest, while reaffirming Nepal’s commitment to nurturing its friendship with the Chinese people.
The Ambassador also took part in an educational program at Shanichare Secondary School, where he distributed scholarships and school supplies to students. The event drew a large gathering of students, parents, teachers, and local citizens. Recipients of the scholarships expressed appreciation for the support, and school officials extended their thanks to the Chinese delegation for encouraging education in the region.
The visit is anticipated to boost people-to-people ties and encourage deeper collaboration between the two nations, particularly in the areas of local industry promotion and educational development.
