Obi Smartphone enters Nepali Market
June 16, 2016: Starck Tech, a subsidiary of Jyoti Group, has launched Obi SF1 and the SJ1.5 smartphones in Nepal. With the launch of two signature smartphones, the US handset manufacturer, Obi Worldphone has officially entered into the Nepal market. Saurabh Jyoti, Chairman of Starck Tech and Ankush Chatterjee, Vice-President, Product Marketing and Innovations of Obi Worldphone jointly unveiled the handsets amid a function held on June 16.
“The smartphone brand strives to create desirable high quality products, which not only look great but also offer great attention to detail in terms of the specifications and finish,” informs the company in a press statement. Obi has already launched its smartphone in 10 different countries.
The Obi SF1 comes in two variant, one with 2GB RAM and 16 GB internal and other with3GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory. Similarly, SJ1.5 has 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. Obi SF1 is powered by Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 with 1.5 GHz octa-core processor while SJ 1.5 is powered by Media-Tek MT6580, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor.
Running on Android OS version 5.0.2 Lollipop, SF1 comes with 13 MP rare cameras and 5 Mp front cameras both with flash. Similarly, SJ 1.5 running on Android OS version 5.1 Lollipop has 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera. Both Obi smartphones has five inch display screen and 3000 mAh battery capacity.

SF1 is priced Rs 21,599 for the 2GB RAM/16GB internal memory version and Rs 26,199 for the 3GB RAM/32GB internal memory variant while SJ 1.5 is priced at Rs 14,799.
