Nepal to Host First-Ever International Everest Summiters’ Summit

Kathmandu – Nepal is all set to host the first-ever International Everest Summiters’ Summit-2025, a landmark gathering of Mount Everest climbers from across the globe. The event will take place on May 27 at The Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu, organised by Everest Alliance Nepal.
At a press conference held Friday, the organisers announced that the summit will feature a special assembly of Everest climbers along with mountaineering experts, policymakers, conservationists, tourism stakeholders, local Himalayan entrepreneurs, and cultural representatives. The event aims to facilitate in-depth discussions on sustainable development in the Himalayan region.
More than 177 seasoned mountaineers from 16 countries are expected to participate. Countries represented include India, China, the United States, Pakistan, Austria, the United Kingdom, Italy, Norway, Iran, Singapore, Australia, Lebanon, Morocco, and the UAE, among others.
The summit’s main highlight will be bringing together Everest summiteers from around the world on a single platform to share their inspiring stories, experiences, and lessons learned from their ascents. It is also seen as a strategic platform to promote local products, arts, culture, traditional attire, and adventure tourism.
In a special tribute, Kanchha Sherpa, the last surviving member of the first successful Everest expedition with Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953, will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The event will also feature a series of cultural performances, art exhibitions, displays depicting mountain lifestyles, photo exhibitions, and equipment showcases, offering a vibrant insight into the rich mountaineering and Himalayan heritage.
