MAW Enterprises and KMC Join Hands to Organize SEEP Mela at Tudikhel

Kathmandu – In a joint initiative aimed at enhancing vocational skills and reducing unemployment, MAW Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. and Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) have signed a formal agreement to co-organize the SEEP Mela at Tudikhel. The collaboration focuses on building workforce capacity and aligning training opportunities with the evolving demands of the job market.
The SEEP Mela, which stands for Skill and Employment Enhancement Program, commenced on Jestha 7 (May 20) and is actively delivering practical training sessions across 37 different professions. These are spread over ten major sectors, giving youth and job seekers across Nepal the opportunity to gain hands-on skills that are relevant to real-world employment. The program is structured to help participants become more employable while also assisting industries in filling critical skill gaps.
This partnership marks a shared commitment by both parties to long-term development goals, particularly those outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including decent work and economic growth. The fair also seeks to address the mismatch between existing skill development programs and the specific requirements of employers in various sectors.
The signing ceremony was facilitated by the Fair Management Committee under the coordination of Gatisheel Abhiyan Nepal. Mr. Ram Jee Poudel signed the agreement on behalf of the organizing committee. Representing MAW Enterprises were Mr. Tej Prasad Subedi and Mr. Mahesh Bista, who serve as the CEOs of MAW Earthmovers Pvt. Ltd. and MAW Skills Academy Pvt. Ltd., respectively. Both were present during the official exchange of the agreement.
By creating a platform where training providers, job seekers, and employers can interact directly, the SEEP Mela aims to streamline workforce development in Nepal. It supports KMC’s broader vision of empowering individuals with skills that meet not only national but also global labor demands.
Through this collaboration, MAW Enterprises and KMC hope to foster stronger public-private partnerships, reduce unemployment, and uplift the livelihoods of many Nepalis. The SEEP Mela stands as a timely and strategic initiative to strengthen Nepal’s labor force and promote inclusive economic growth.
