Upaya Secures NPR 55 Crores to Transform Logistics Across Nepal and Expand Regionally
Kathmandu – Upaya, Nepal’s pioneering technology-enabled logistics company, has secured a total of NPR 55 crores (USD 4 million) in fresh funding, marking a major step toward reshaping the country’s logistics landscape.
The company recently closed a NPR 28 crores (USD 2 million) Series C round from Dolma Impact Fund II, and is in the process of raising an additional NPR 27 crores through a private Quarterback Round II from friends, acquaintances, and family. This funding milestone strengthens Upaya’s mission to make logistics in Nepal faster, more efficient, and more inclusive.
Founded in 2019, Upaya has evolved from a small Kathmandu-based startup into a national leader in on-demand, enterprise, and intercity logistics, offering door-to-door fulfillment and third-party logistics (3PL) warehousing services. It currently powers deliveries for thousands of businesses and supports a growing logistics network across the country.
To date, the company has raised over NPR 200 crores in funding. Dolma Impact Fund II, whose investors include FMO, BII, SwedFund, IFC, DFC, and JICA, has invested a total of NPR 71 crores in Upaya, remaining its most consistent funding partner.
“This fundraise is not just about capital, it’s about making a footprint to consolidate the entire ecosystem ranging from rides, food, goods, and commerce, and unlocking opportunities for businesses and livelihoods,” said Suman Rayamajhi, Managing Director and Co-founder of Upaya. “With this investment, we’re ready to scale our platform, expand across Nepal, and introduce our innovative services to markets like Sri Lanka and Bhutan.”
The fresh funds will be directed toward advancing Upaya’s AI-driven logistics platform, expanding its network to 200 support hubs and branches nationwide, and participating in equity investment for its upcoming 3PL warehousing project.
Tim Gocher OBE, Founder and CEO of Dolma Fund Management, praised the company’s vision: “Upaya is not just solving a logistics problem, it’s building the infrastructure for efficient and sustainable logistics networks across Nepal. Their strong execution, local insight, and scalable technology make them an ideal partner for long-term impact.”
Co-founder and Director Ranjeev Shrestha credited Dolma’s role in the company’s journey: “From our early growth stages to our latest expansion, Dolma’s trust, capital, and strategic guidance have been instrumental in turning our vision into reality.”
Upaya’s infrastructure includes the Digital Transport Nagar in Sanobharyang for mid-mile deliveries, an 18,000+ square foot fulfillment center in Pepsicola, and a network of 7 regional offices, 55+ support hubs, and over 350 drop-off locations nationwide. The company is also preparing to launch Nepal’s first large-scale 3PL warehousing facility on nearly 100,000 square feet of land in Sanga, Kavrepalanchowk.
Regionally, Upaya has partnered with Alliance Finance Corporation of Sri Lanka to roll out its “Delivered” logistics platform across Colombo districts, marking its first step into international markets.
With a technology-driven approach that integrates two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and large trucks, Upaya aims to redefine logistics management in Nepal and beyond, setting a benchmark for the country’s growing startup ecosystem.
