Nepali Army to be Deployed Nationwide to Contain Unrest and Protect Public Property
Kathmandu – The Nepali Army has announced nationwide mobilization alongside other security agencies to maintain peace and protect public property amid escalating unrest in the country.
In an official statement, the Army expressed concern over certain groups taking advantage of the current volatile situation by engaging in vandalism, looting, and arson, which have caused serious damage to public and private assets. The Army urged citizens to refrain from such destructive activities and assured that its presence is aimed solely at restoring law and order.
“To prevent further loss and ensure peace, the Nepali Army, together with all security agencies, will assume primary responsibility for safeguarding the country starting from 10 PM, September 9, 2025,” the statement said.
Security forces have been placed on high alert and are coordinating closely to stabilize the situation. The Army has also made a direct appeal to the public for cooperation, emphasizing that collective effort is essential to protecting lives and property.
As part of its response, the official Army Helpline, 01-5979000 has been activated and is fully operational. Citizens are encouraged to use this number to seek assistance or provide information. The Army has requested the public to share this contact widely so more people can access help when needed.
The statement further assured that additional updates will be issued as the security situation develops. The Army reiterated its commitment to protecting the people of Nepal and called for unity in facing the challenges at hand.
