Mustang through lens of Kishor Kayastha
The Gehendra Dhimal Foundation, in partnership with the US Embassy in Kathmandu, is hosting “MUSTANG Nostalgia: A Two-Decade Odyssey,” a panoramic photo exhibition by renowned artist Kishor Kayastha.
Running from January 7 to 14 at the Nepal Art Council, Babar Mahal, the exhibition features 30 stunning panoramic photographs capturing the Mustang region’s evolving landscapes over two decades. Kayastha’s work highlights the impacts of climate change, urbanization, and the preservation of traditions.
The exhibition also sheds light on the US Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) projects in Mustang, which have restored 28 heritage sites in Nepal with over $4.54 million in funding.
Jason P. Meeks, Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy visited the exhibition, highlighting the US’s commitment to cultural preservation. At the same time, Gautam Dhimal, Chairperson of the Gehendra Dhimal Foundation, emphasized the importance of climate awareness through art. The exhibition is open daily from 11 am to 4 pm.
