Kathmandu- With investment from the IME Group, the Ila Hotel and Resort is set to officially open in Maulakali, located in Gaidakot Municipality-1–1 of Nawalpur district. The resort will commence operations following an official inauguration ceremony scheduled for Monday.
Situated at the upper station of the Maulakali Cable Car, the hotel features 65 rooms, including suites and deluxe accommodations. It also includes a banquet and conference hall with a capacity of 1,000 guests, along with a restaurant, swimming pool, spa, gym, and a range of other modern amenities.
The state-of-the-art infrastructure of Ila Hotel and Resort, integrated with the cable car, is expected to enhance the tourism experience in the region. It aims to showcase the cultural and natural significance of nearby heritage and religious sites such as Narayani, Devghat, and Triveni to both domestic and international tourists.
IME Group has been actively developing tourism infrastructure—comprising cable cars, hotels, and resorts—across all seven provinces of Nepal. So far, cable car services have been launched in three provinces. With the opening of this hotel, IME Group now operates hotel-inclusive tourism projects in two provinces.
Meanwhile, construction of a hotel is underway at Basantapur, the top station of the Lumbini Cable Car. Similarly, in Kailali district of the Far-Western Province, the construction of a cable car, a hotel, and a resort is progressing simultaneously. The cable car there is expected to be operational within a year, with the hotel and resort following soon after. Additionally, cable car development is also in progress at Pathibhara in Taplejung district.
