Discover Tharu culture at the 10th Khichara Mahotsav in Chitwan
The 10th Khichara Mahotsav is being organized at Khairhani Municipality-5 (Jabkauli, Durga Mandir), Chitwan to preserve and promote the Tharu culture.
Preparations for the festival, scheduled to take place from 13 January (Poush 29), to 20 January (Magh 7), have been finalized. The event is being organized by the Tharu Welfare Assembly Constituency 7 with the slogan, “National unity and diversity are our pride: Multilingualism, culture, and identity of Nepal!”
The Mahotsav aims to preserve and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Tharu community, including their traditional attire, language, literature, and cuisines, as part of the Maghi Festival, which is the biggest celebration of the Tharu people.
