13 Foton Mountain EV Vans Handed Over to Xavier International School

Kathmandu – In a move toward sustainable transportation, Xavier International School has received 13 brand-new Foton Mountain electric school vans from Maw Vriddhi Commercial Vehicle. The official key handover ceremony took place in Kathmandu, signaling a shared commitment to eco-friendly mobility between the educational institution and the importer of Foton Motors.
The Foton Mountain EV is designed to meet the specific needs of school transportation. With a powerful 53.58 kWh CATL battery and a 130 kW motor delivering peak torque of 330 Nm, the van promises smooth and efficient performance even on steep or uneven terrain. Its 25 percent gradeability makes it suitable for hilly routes commonly found in urban Nepal.
The EV features a spacious interior, low operating costs, and zero emissions, aligning with both performance expectations and environmental goals. It is considered a practical and sustainable choice for institutions aiming to reduce their carbon footprint while ensuring student safety and comfort.
Mr. Tushar Gupta, CEO of Maw Vriddhi Commercial Vehicle, and Mr. Nabin Acharya, the company’s Sales Head, officially handed over the fleet. Speaking at the event, Mr. Gupta praised the school’s forward-thinking approach. “We are proud to partner with Xavier International School as it moves toward sustainable development. These EV school vans meet modern transport needs while reducing environmental impact,” he said.
Mr. Acharya highlighted the key advantages of the Foton Mountain EV, saying, “It combines safety, sustainability, space, and efficiency. We are hopeful that our collaboration will benefit students, parents, and the broader community.”
Representatives from Xavier International School expressed their enthusiasm about the adoption of electric mobility. They noted that transitioning to electric vehicles aligns with the school’s long-term goals of providing quality education while promoting environmental responsibility.
This initiative positions Xavier International School among the first educational institutions in Nepal to adopt electric vehicles at such a scale. More than just a fleet upgrade, the handover represents a strategic step toward building a cleaner and smarter transportation system for future generations.
